Hot Flash Symptoms
I have been having symptoms of hot flashes for about 20 years. At first I did not think too much about it because I went to the doctor and he found nothing wrong with me, and being in my 30s I thought okay maybe it is just me. Here is a list of some of the things that I went through and still going through to this day. Not everything happened at once. &nbs
Sometimes I would get just one symptom, other times I would get 2 to 3 symptoms at the same time.
• Flushing only of the face for no reason.
• Crying for no reason.
• Becoming angry for no reason.
• Becoming very hot and sweaty from the waist up. Lasting from a few minutes to a few hours.
• Being very hot and sweating from the knees up and having very cold feet.
• Even being very cold on a hot day.
Hot flashes or as some people say flushes are so different for many women that sometimes doctors ignore our complaints. We asked our friends, mothers and husbands and are just told to get over it because the doctor did not find anything wrong with us. So we just suffer in silence.
I am tired of being unheard, made fun of and suffering in silence. So I decided to write this article.

Most of us women are still taught to take care of everyone but ourselves. Take care of our boyfriends, husbands, children, parents and people at our jobs. We even take care of other women in our circle of friends, everyone except ourselves.
Well stop for a moment and listen to your inner self. Your symptoms are not all in your head you know your body better than anyone else. You know when something is going on with you and you just don’t feel like yourself. When everyone around you is telling you that your hot flashes are just in your head, that you are too young to be having them were you are probably just getting a cold. Don’t give up. Keep searching into you find out why you are having symptoms of hot flashes as there can be many reasons why.
Although some hot flash symptoms can not be explained or understood a lot of them can.
Hot flashes are caused by a gland in the brain that controls body temperature when your hormones fluctuate, it can trigger that gland.
Some women only get hot from the waist up they get Flushing on the face and start to sweat. It may only last a few moments but can happen every few hours.
Some might just get night sweats. Waking up at night soaked from sweat, even having to change your clothing. It interrupts sleep and can run a great day because you are so tired from lack of sleep. Some relief from hotflashes might include:
-
Use a dampened towel on your pilliow
-
Sleeping in the nude.
-
Using a spray bottle filled with water to sprits.
Other symptoms might include anxiety, dizziness, feeling very cold.
I have also talked to other women who said that they would get very emotional and cry for no reason.
Please if you have hot flash symptoms see your doctor first. Don’t just try to suck it up you may have a medical problem that needs to be checked out.
If nothing is medically wrong with you know that there are other women having the same problem. Women please talk to and support each other. It is not all in your head and something to just deal with. It is real. If we take a stand together maybe someday our daughters will not be made to feel as if their complaints about their health were all in their head.
